G-Knee Pittack

I am a fine art photographer, who shoots in both digital and analog, using both modern and historic printing methods. My style is primarily lowlight and dramatic. I am a freelance photographer at G-Knee Photo and a resident artist at Hot Shops Art Center, in Omaha, Nebraska. My first experiences with photography began as a child when I was given my mother’s Kodak Brownie & my grandmother’s pinhole camera. Both of my parents were artists, and I was very fortunate to grow up in an environment full of all the wonders of this, “other world.” Photography has always been part of my life. I almost always carried a camera with me, using it as a notebook of sorts. I didn't embark on my professional career as a photographer until many years later, after posting photos I took while on long walks at night to process deep grief, which gathered the attention of a gallery owner who asked me to do an exhibition. It was during this difficult period of my life that I asked myself what in my life gave me reason to get up in the morning. The answer was simple: my children, my loved people, and photography. It was then that I decided to really focus on photography as if my life depended on it, because I realized, that in fact, it did. It gives me great joy to share my art, which is a piece of my life, with you. I live in rural Plattsmouth, Nebraska, with my husband, four children, three cats, and our dog.
